Vivo V23 Pro is expected to release in India in early 2022 and so far, there haven’t been many revelations from leaksters, apart from the probable launch date, which is said to happen in the first week of January 2022. Even though we are yet to see the first renders of the device, a new report now suggests that Vivo will make the V23 Pro change colours on its own under the sun.
Based on a leaked report from 91Mobiles, it seems that the Vivo V23 Pro will feature a colour changing back cover. The colour change won’t happen electronically though – there will be a highly reactive material that will change colours based on the UV radiations from the Sun. Vivo will mostly call it the Changeable Flourite Glass material.
The V23 Pro will have a material on the back that changes colours after getting exposed to UV light and sunlight. The leak says that it will come with fuller crystals that “tend to offer better light reflection and sparkle compared to AG matte glass.”
While it sounds exciting for smartphone nerds, there is a high chance that it could make the Vivo V23 Pro pricier than before. If you look at history, the last Pro variant in the V series was the Vivo V20 Pro that launched at a price of ₹30,000 in late 2020. The next-gen Vivo V21 itself cost ₹30,000 and Vivo never introduced the Pro variant in India.
Hence, the Vivo V23 Pro with its fancy back and upgraded features could cost almost the same as Samsung’s Galaxy A52s 5G, which currently sells at a price of ₹35,000.
It remains to be seen whether the V23 Pro gets the dual selfie camera setup from its predecessor. Vivo’s V series phones have always focused highly on the camera experience over anything else but in a market that prefers Ahigh refresh rate OLED displays and 5G connectivity, it remains to be seen what Vivo brings to the table.
