Motorola, in the past quarter, offered various smartphones out of which, there was only one flagship device, Moto Edge 30 Pro. The smartphone was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. As per Lenovo China’s General Manager, the company is going to soon launch another device with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset phone.
The GM also posted something on Weibo that showed the posting source as ‘from Motorola Phones’. However, there is no word related to the moniker of the smartphone. Previous reports suggested that the brains working on a flagship smartphone that is codenamed Frontier.
Digital Chat Station, a popular tipster, has also said that Motorola has already started testing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 plus processor. We can say that the company could bag the title of introducing the first smartphone with the mentioned chipset.
If we go by the leaks and rumours, Qualcomm will release the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor globally in the month of May itself. Alongside, we can also see the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor making its way to the market.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor will be the high-end model of the Snapdragon 8 series. It will be built on a 4nm chip and is expected to get Cortex X2, Cortex-A510, and Cortex-A710. The processor will be complemented by an Adreno 730 graphics processing unit for high-end gaming performance.
Additionally, we can expect the Moto Frontier to hit the market somewhere around the first half of June. Early renders of the smartphone suggest that it will get a rectangular camera island situated at the top left corner.
The device will have one large sensor and two small sensors along with a flash. At the front, the smartphone mat ships with a curved display and a punch hole cut out at the top middle for the placement of the front sensor.
