Shashi Tharoor shares 1919 cartoon predicting impact of mobile phones. See post – msnNOW

Shashi Tharoor knows how to keep his followers hooked and is quite active on social media, especially Twitter. On November 19, the politician took to the microblogging site to share a super old cartoon strip that actually predicted the impact of mobile phones and technology. Yes, you read that right. And you should definitely not miss out on it.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor shared a black-and-white cartoon strip from 1919. It was titled, “The Pocket Telephone: When will it ring!” and depicted a stark similarity to the impact of mobile phones now. The strip featured a man with a “pocket telephone” and the various circumstances and which it rang. From a wedding to a concert, the telephone rang unexpectedly, causing a disturbance.
“Scarcely believable, but predictions about technology (usually wide off the mark) sometimes were eerily prescient. See this 1919 cartoon, when fixed-line telephones were still rare, which anticipated the mobile phone & the nuisance it could turn out to be 80 years later!” Tharoor captioned the post.

No points in guessing that the post grabbed a lot of eyeballs and a ton of reactions from netizens. The comments section was absolutely flooded.
“This is absolutely a GEM of a cartoon. The artist could anticipate an entire century,” a user wrote.
Another user commented, “Sir, it’s strange, unbelievable, and eerie.”

Sir, it’s strange, unbelievable, and eerie. Nevertheless, poets and artists have always had an uncanny connection with the occult. Umpteen times in the past, comics and fiction have mysteriously predicted about future happenings, which today sounds bizarre.

So true!
This is absolutely a GEM of a cartoon.
The artist could anticipate an entire Century
To a large extent this is absolutely relevant at present.
Eerie indeed
Amazing.
Pretty humorous prediction
