Reliance Jio announced UPI Autopay service for its subscribers. The UPI Autopay service has been introduced in association with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). With this, Jio claims to have become the first telecom company to launch this feature.
The UPI Autopay service is for Reliance Jio’s prepaid as well as post-paid customers. With UPI Autopay, Reliance Jio users can set standing instructions for auto-debit for their tariff plans through UPI. Jio subscribers can set these instructions on the MyJio app. This means that Jio users will no longer need to remember their recharge renewal date or bill payment date. Click here for the full story.
Samsung unveiled its new monitor lineup which includes the Odyssey Neo G8, Smart Monitor M8 and High-Resolution Monitor S8. The lineup features technologies from the company that includes Quantum Mini LED-backlit, HDR 2000 support and smart features.
Odyssey Neo G8 is the world’s first monitor to feature a 4K (3840 x2160) pixels resolution with 1000R curved screen, 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. The company also unveiled its new TV models for 2022, like the Micro LED TV and the QLED TV. Samsung will be announcing the Micro LED TVs in three screen sizes — 110-inch, 101-inch and 89-inch. Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge and Xiaomi 11i smartphones are now official in India. Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G is the first smartphone of the series to offer 120W fast charging support. On the other hand, Xiaomi 11i comes with 67W fast charging support. Both the smartphones come with AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.
The duo is powered by MediaTek processor and run Android operating system. The smartphones are the rebranded version of Redmi Note 11 Pro+ and the Redmi Note 11 Pro, which the company launched in China last year.

Asus unveiled the world’s first foldable OLED laptop this week. Called the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, The laptop offers a 17-inch display with 2.5K resolution. The laptop folds and turns into a compact 12.5-inch laptop. The company has not yet revealed the pricing of the laptop but it will be made available for purchase in the mid-year of 2022.
Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED also features a full-size Asus ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad. The folding design of the device enables users to use it in multiple modes such as PC, Laptop, Tablet, On-Screen Keyboard, Book and Extend.

Chinese phone maker Xiaomi’s India unit has been slapped with a Rs 653 crore notice for alleged evasion of import duty, as per an official statement. A show-cause notice has been slapped on Xiaomi India following recovery of documents during searches on its premises that indicated remittance of royalty and licence fee to US and Chinese firms under contractual obligations, the union finance ministry said on Wednesday.
Evidence gathered during investigations by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) indicated that neither Xiaomi India nor its contract manufacturers were including the amount of royalty paid by the firm in the assessable value of the goods imported by the company and its contract manufacturers, which is in violation of the customs law, the ministry said. Acer has expanded its Chromebook lineup with three new Chromebooks — Chromebook Spin 513, Chromebook 315 and Chromebook 314. The new laptops are powered by MediaTek and Intel processors. The new Chromebooks from Acer will also support Android apps which can be downloaded via Google Play Store.
Acer Chromebook Spin 512 (CP513-2H) will go on sale in North America in June starting at $599.99 (Rs 44,600). The laptop will be available in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) region in April starting at EUR 649 (Rs 54,600).
On the other hand, Acer Chromebook 315(CB315-4H/T) will be available for purchase in North America starting this month. The device comes with a starting price tag of $299.99 (Rs 22,300). The device will cost EUR 399 (Rs 33,600) in EMEA and will go on sale starting March this year.

Lenovo launched Smart Clock 2 with wireless charging dock in India. The new device is also bundled with a wireless charging dock enabling users to charge multiple devices at once.
