Coming soon, the Stanford Mobile app is unlocking a new feature enhancement — Mobile Key. Stanford faculty and staff can expect the release starting June 28, and students and postdocs on July 6 (version 10.7.0 for both iOS and Android). Students and postdocs in campus housing will receive a separate communication with additional details.
Through secure, encrypted technology, Mobile Key makes it possible to use your phone in lieu of your physical Stanford ID card to access doors on campus.

Access to student residences is limited to a single method and will continue to require the Stanford ID card.
