Nitin Gadkari Says “We Should End Use Of Printed Tickets” And Replace It With Mobile Phones – Mashable India

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Govt. of India, Nitin Gadkari said that printed rail tickets should be replaced by mobile phones while emphasising on the need to upgrade technology in the country. He said that the use of printed tickets should end in the country and authorities should “use mobiles for tickets”.
During the Catalyst 2022, Nitin Gadkari said that “We need to accept the new technology of electric vehicles”. He further added that “we should end the use of tickets and instead use mobiles for tickets”. Furthermore, Gadkari also suggested encouraging the production of lithium batteries in India. He said that once the production of these batteries scales up, the cost would automatically come down.
Speaking of luxury buses, the Road Transport and Highway Minister said that buses running on long routes such as Delhi and Mumbai should be electric and double deckers. Further he shed some light on the tender of procuring electric buses including 130 double deckers and said that Rs 5,550 crore has been put out by the government for this task.

Further Nitin Gadkari said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dreamt of a $5 trillion economy which is roughly Rs 4,00,04,000 crore in India currency. He said that the country has the responsibility to “reduce imports and increase exports”.

Nitin Gadkari also said that there are 400 startups in India which are “manufacturing electric two-wheelers and making good products”. Further he aimed at producing between 8 lakh and 10 lakh electric buses in India.
