Popular smartphone-maker Motorola has confirmed that it will bring a premium camera phone later this year. The company has been working on a flagship phone with a 200 MP primary camera for quite some time. The phone, codenamed Frontier, has been leaked several times in recent months, exposing its design and important specifications. We now have official confirmation from the company. Motorola China revealed on Monday on the Chinese social networking platform Weibo that a Moto phone with a 200 MP camera will be introduced in July. While the teaser does not reveal the phone’s official name, it might be the rumoured Motorola Frontier.

Motorola said last week that it would unveil a phone powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 plus chipset. Previous speculation stated that the Motorola Frontier would be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 plus, codenamed SM8475.

It’s believed that the 200 MP camera phone that can be seen in the teaser is the same phone that Motorola described last week.
According to reports, the Motorola Frontier will be a high-end flagship smartphone with cutting-edge hardware. It will purportedly have a 6.67-inch curved OLED display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz.
It is rumoured to have a triple camera setup on the back, led by a 200 MP primary shooter and accompanied by a 50 MP ultra-wide sensor and a 12 MP telephoto lens. The primary sensor is almost certainly Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor.

The phone is also expected to have fast charging speeds of up to 120 W wired and 50 W wireless.
Motorola’s 200 MP camera phone will be available in July, though the specific date is yet to be announced.
The new phone, like the Moto Edge X30 last year, will be released in China first before expanding to other markets.
