Google Pixel 7 series launch Live Updates: Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Watch expected – The Indian Express

Google Pixel 7 series launch: Google is set to launch a number of new products today at its launch event in NYC. The main launches expected are the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones, which the tech giant had already showed us a glimpse of at Google I/O 2022 in May. The Made by Google event begins at 7.30 pm tonight. The event can be livestreamed on Google’s YouTube channel.
With a similar design like the Pixel 6 series, including the horizontal camera bar, the Pixel 7 series is expected to pack a new and improved Tensor chip. The smartphones are also expected to be joined by the Google Pixel Watch, the company’s first smartwatch as well as a Pixel tablet. While we don’t know much about any of these products officially apart from their design, it is just a matter of ours before all information including price and availability will go official.
The Google Pixel 7 pro is expected to launch with a 6.7-inch display with a QHD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 7 Pro is also expected to feature the new Tensor G2 chip with 12GB RAM, and it isn’t clear if there will be a variant with lower RAM or if 12GB will be standard. Regardless, we may likely see a 128GB and a 256GB storage variant.
The Pixel 7 Pro will also come with iP68 water resistance and support for both wired and wireless charging, as per leaks. Other additions here include triple rear cameras including a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide and 48MP telephoto camera. There is also a 10.8MP front camera expected. While the resolution of the telephoto camera remains the same, leaks suggest it will offer 5X zoom instead of the 4X zoom we saw on the Pixel 6 Pro.
The Google Pixel 7 is set to come with a 6.3-inch display and a 90Hz FHD panel, as per leaks. The phone is also expected to come with 8GB RAM and and two storage variants with 128GB and 256GB storage respectively. A new Tensor G2 chipset is et to power the phone and it is also expected to come with support for both wired and wireless charging, IP68 water resistance, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The camera setup on the Pixel 7 is expected to be the same as the Pixel 6, with a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera and no telephoto lens. On the front, we may see a single 10.8MP camera.
The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will come with a design language quite similar to that of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro from last year. This includes light, pastel colours as well as a horizontal camera bar that runs from left to right on the top of the smartphone.
While the Pixel 7 is expected to feature two cameras, the Pro model comes with three. The camera bar however, has light colours this time around, making the cameras visible compared to the black camera bars on The Pixel 6 series, which gave the whole bar a unified, sleeker look.
While not yet confirmed, the Google Pixel 7 series will, as per rumours, launch in India as well, marking the first time we see a flagship Pixel product launch in the country in years. The phone is also set to be powered by Google’s second in-house chipset, following up to last year’s Tensor chip. As always, camera will be a sharp focus in the Pixel series.
The Pixel 7 is expected to sport a 50MP primary sensor accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide lens. However, the Pro version might get a 48MP telephoto lens. Rumours also indicate that the Pixel 7 Pro will have two new camera modes. The first one might be called Cinematic mode and will allow users to record videos in portrait mode. The second mode will be a new Macro Focus mode that will supposedly let users take close-ups using the ultrawide lens.
