Flipkart has made some new design changes to its mobile app to make the app more intuitive and user friendly. The redesigned app, Flipkart claims, makes it look more appealing and makes navigation easier. The changes include the addition of a Grocery tab, removal of all buttons from the top bar and a new Discovery menu under the search bar. The changes were earlier made live for select users and have now has been rolled out for all Android users. The company will soon be rolling out the changes for iOS, mobile web and desktop users.
“With millions of first-time internet users exploring e-commerce from not just from metros but from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, it was imperative to create a user experience that caters to the diverse needs of the users,” said a press release by the company.
The new changes can be accessed by simply updating the app from the Google Play Store, as the updates are available for all Android users.
The major change is the addition of a new green-coloured Grocery tab at the top of the app that makes it easier for users to navigate to grocery delivery section of the app. The feature has been made available only in regions where the service is available.
The addition of new bottom navigation buttons lets users switch easily between homepage, categories, notifications and past orders and even finishing their purchases from the cart.
The app also has a new Discovery menu below the Search bar that includes offers, Supercoins, Stores and other features.
To make the app more simplistic by hetting rid of the clutter, Flipkart has also removed all the buttons from the top bar, including the hamburger icon.
Flipkart is also planning on changing its icon, font and redesigning the cartegory section of the app.
